INTERN WANTED -- Key intern wanted for THE LINUX LOFT, a company formed to provide a central resource in NYC for Linux users (a little like The Macintosh Stores and Tech Serve) and to ease the transition to Open Source software. We create and market Linux-related value-added packages and consult on the implementation of "*ix" and open-source solutions. This internship is not all technical-- interns will be part of the production team of THEATERPOD, the first-ever theatrical application of Podcasting. Web design skills desirable. COLLEGE INTERN WANTED: THEATRICAL PUBLIC RELATIONS -- Jonathan Slaff & Associates (www.jsnyc.com) acts as editorial press representative for cultural institutions, domestic and foreign government agencies, professional theater and dance companies, fundraising events and civic events in New York City and vicinity. Interns will work with up to twelve professional theater groups at a high management level. The firm solicits print and broadcast media outlets for news/feature story coverage, arts reviews and photo placement. It is one of the few press offices in New York that takes its own press photos. ROVING CLASSICAL COMMEDIA UNIVERSITY (TOTALLY UNACCREDITED) -- Stanley Allan Sherman will teach Classical Commedia dell'Arte in a New York summer intensive from June 14 to June 26, 2009. His Roving Classical Commedia University (totally unaccredited), now in its eight year, teaches Classical Commedia dell'Arte as close to its original form as they believe it was performed in the 1500's and 1600's. Topics will include character, masks, improvisation, scenario, history, skills, props, scatology, lazzi, mime, rhythm, movement and more.Caroline Copland of The New York Baroque Dance Company will teach dances the Commedia dell'Arte actors performed in Northern Italy in the late 1500's. Other noted specialists will be teaching specialized courses. Paul Shipper will teach voice production for both speaking and singing, diction and playing simple instrumental music from the Commedia dell'Arte period using both wind and string instruments. Over 88 hours of classes.
